Often given to express sincere, heartfelt gratitude, the hydrangea flower was first discovered and cultivated in Japan, spreading across Asia for hundreds of years before coming to Europe and North America. About 75 different flowering shrubs share the botanical name of hydrangea. The name hydrangea comes from the Greek “hydor,” meaning water, and “angos,” meaning jar or vessel.
These flowers have been collected locally on the West Coast, dried & pressed into a silver sterling charm.

About the maker:
Flowers brighten our lives with their beauty and fragrance, but our affinity to them can be so much deeper. Sometimes they remind us of our childhood, the way our grandma’s garden smelled. Others commemorate a special occasion. Some remind us of a most cherished loved one. Whatever the reason, they hold a tender spot in our hearts. This collection is designed using real flowers, to celebrate the moments in our lives we hold so dear.
Krista of Birch Artisan Studio presses and dries each piece, locally and sustainably, so no two pieces are ever alike.
