Iris Dorton Oval Platter
Style, beauty, function, all wrapped up in this lovely little tray. Measuring approximately 19 1/4" x 7" it has a natural textured finish and comes with the small 3" diameter dip dish and spoon. This makes an ideal gift for someone who entertains .....or for yourself!
About the Artist: Iris Dorton is a based in Guelph, Ontario. Most of her pottery is thrown on the wheel, however some serving pieces are hand built. Subtle matte glazed exteriors are contrasted with colourful, glossy interiors. She uses a number of different decorating techniques including water etching, cuerda seca (black wax), and impressing. All glazes are food safe, and the pottery can be placed in the dishwasher and microwave.
Care Instructions: though dishwasher safe, hand washing is recommended to prolong the beauty of handmade pottery. Not safe for the oven.
